Mid-Week Update

Exercise: Monday - 24 Hour Fitness, 18 min. elliptical & 22 min. treadmill (Patti & Britney waiting for ride home); 2.5 miles total & 780 cals. Tuesday - neighborhood walk/run; 3 miles, 750 cals.; able to run most of my normal - a little cut back on the Mesa stretch; summary 9 good & 16 bad.

Diet: Monday - very good except for the low carb ice cream treat at the end of the day; Tuesday - very good.

Current Events: A major commuter train wreck in LA (Glendale) this morning & a transport helicopter crash in western Iraq killing 31 Marines are the major news events. President Bush gave a news conference this morning and did very well. He was able to control the media and even chastised them several times. I believe he will be taking a more aggressive stance with the media & Congress and taking his case to the "American People" a lot more. I think this strategy of by-passing the media and the Congress by going directly to the people to push his agenda will be successful. Governor Arnold has been able to follow this strategy in California to bring the Legislature into line behind his policies.

Reading: I have been reading an interesting series of articles in Time magazine dealing with "happiness & joy" research. I will provide a link and my thoughts in a future post.
